Cut to the Drummer

Cut to the Drummer was a charity art show held at the Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto on February 5th. Fifty portraits of fifty legendary drummers were completed by fifty artists to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, chronicling the under appreciated and oft misunderstood foundation to our favorite tunes. Drummer Jeremy Taggart and author Tom Moon - 1000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die - joined Jian Ghomeshi (a drummer himself) on Q to dish on the perception of the drummer in popular culture. Animal was never mentioned, but I'm not sure how long the discussion can go before his name comes up as one of the most prolific beat makers of our time.

Cut to the Drummer was discussed on the Thursday February 5th edition of Q the podcast.

That's a really interesting theme... looked like a good exhibit.
