Putting to use the wreckage of
Boston's Big Dig, designers at
SsD Architects constructed a prototype structure exemplifying the ways in which infrastructural refuse can be salvaged and reused. This build finds its structural foundation in materials gleaned from over 600,000 lbs of wreckage from the now dismantled I-93 highway.
Contemporist suggests the most important feature of this build is its application in public life. Libraries, community centres, schools and affordable housing could find life in deconstructed infrastructure. Brilliant.
