MTV has changed its logo - however slight - for the first time since 1981. Let's call this a refresh. Not a rebrand. The new cropped version of their standard logo omits the tag line 'music television' and can now display imagery as a fill. It's official, Snookie killed the radio star.
I think it was articulated quite well in my interview with DGenetics Musics last year, 'Well, I haven't checked in several years, but I'm pretty sure MTV has little to do with music.'
