Red Guest Houses

The Red Guest Houses are an award winning architectural rebuild from Moscow's Resort Pirogovo. The Resort was founded in 1960 on the initiative of the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Nikita Khrushchev. The lightweight wooden cabinets stand on high legs with large semi circular balconies facing the water.

Lead architect Totan Kuzembaev said of the houses, 'A man always wants to climb higher; after he has climbed, he wants to sit there; and when he has sat down, he would like to have a roof over his head.'
