Three aluminum LEGO figurines depicting Italian astronomer Galileo and Roman gods Jupiter & Juno were specially commissioned by NASA to travel to Jupiter aboard the Juno space probe. Special manufacturing was required to insure the figurines do not interfere with the spacecraft's sensitive instruments. The probe is expected to reach its destination in 2016. Patience. 
Using the standard Dutch brick, Japanese Lego artist Sachiko recreated McDonald's Bic Mac Combo to scale. Burger, fries and pop capped with a transparent lid and multi coloured straw. 
Denmark building block mogul LEGO has designed their own dynamic application for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch. The LEGO Photo app (retired word) transforms your own photographs into a mosaic masterpiece with the touch of a finger. The application can be downloaded for free via iTunes.
Nathan Sawaya has some stiff competition in professional kid Sean Kenney. He recently created a larger than life sculpture of the Nintendo DSi to coincide with the release of the personal gaming system on April 5, 2009. The sculpture is nearly 7 feet wide and contains 51,324 LEGO pieces. It took over 200 hours to create and weighs over 250 pounds. The Twitter Fail Whale by Bjarne P Tveskov, designer of some of the most classic LEGO Space sets ever made. I tried Twitter for a week, and I don't get it. But I can still appreciate this flying whale.
Style moguls and current cool kids Dee & Ricky are perhaps best known for their Lego Heart Pin made famous by Kanye West (and me on New Years). If they weren't already cool enough, they also throw some thrashin parties and photograph the whole session. On Feburary 13th they threw a blow out party dubbed the Rock Band Party and photographed the jammers infront of a SEXY statue only Bar Rafaeli could warrent. Not since the infamous Broadbent Dance Party have I seen this kind of dance partying. Ya ya ya ya . . . ya ya ya.
Word on the street tells me that replicating classic album artwork using LEGO is all the rage. Pitchfork recently posted 20 classic hip hop albums rendered entirely in the famous Danish brick. The results are worth wasting your time over.
