Bangalore Express Indian Restaurant

London England based design firm Outline created the interior for the Bangalore Express Indian Restaurant located opposite the Waterloo Station in South London. Reinventing the Indian curry house, Outline stripped back the space to its basics before creating three distinct areas while maintaining a cohesive environment and sense of intimacy.

Most of the furniture is constructed from fastclamp, galvanised steel tube and fixings, normally used in scaffolding, which gives the space an urban feel. This design element flows into the double height booths that run along one side of the restaurant. A mock up of this arrangement was constructed on site to work out how the waiters would serve to the higher levels.

Every kid who dreamed of having bunk beds can now dine in them over some curry.
