The week 5 homework assignment for my drawing class was to complete a self portrait in pencil using the techniques of proportion and foreshortening. I was really worried about this assignment after last week's unsuccessful session of model drawing. You win some, you lose some. But this may be my best work since The Boot. Hurrah! I took a series of black and white photographs of myself and chose the 'best' one to work from. However, I still seem to have a terrible fear of drawing the hands and face. So for now I'll wear mittens in all my self portraits.

Self Portrait

haha love the mittens.
I don't think it's right that you photograph yourself and submit it as a self-portrait, it's cheating.
