Christian Faur Crayon Series

Bar codes, spools of threads and now crayons. Artist Christian Faur has created more than one hundred thousand hand cast crayons in varying colours to be used as the pixels for his latest series. Combining elements of photography and sculpture, this wax pointilism exploration also includes a unique 26 colour coded translation of the English alphabet reminiscent of DNA in each work. Faur's return to his earliest memory of making art has led him to create his own medium; all the while relishing in the beauty of an untouched crayon tip.
