Freelance Whales

Craigslist organized buskers from the inner city subway system of New York make good. Thats where you should file the genesis of your new favorite band. Somewhere between folk tunes and a patchwork textile jamboree.

Freelance Whales developed their indie fan base underground and fleshed out a diverse catalogue of songs to the sound of speeding subway cars before they played their first proper show in an abandoned 19th century poorhouse on Staten Island. Those are the all or nothing days, alright. Word is their live show outworks their phenomenal debut album Weathervanes.

Kilojoules is my favorite tune at the moment.
You should have a listen.
