Osaka Reno

Another remodel, this time tackled by Katsuhiro Miyamoto Architects in the high density area of Southern Osaka City. The one thousand 2 x 4 pieces that surround the building comprise an 'undulating lattice surface', which increases the amount of light that enters the space and creates an intriguing facade. An especially compelling and timely feature of the reconstruction is its doubling as seismic reinforcement against natural disasters.
