Handmade Bangladesh School
A group of international architects engaged local craftsmen, pupils, parents and teachers to hand build this primary school in Rudrapur, north west Bangladesh. Improving upon traditional methods and techniques, the collective developed a damp proof course and brick foundation which has promising applications in rural housing. Along with these improvements, the project's aim was to strengthen the regional identity and sustainability by using local materials and labour. A great success in teaching a village how to fish!
