Scenes from Indonesia
I spent two and a half weeks in Bali, Indonesia. The most striking feature of the small island was the beautiful Hindu culture. A culture that can hardly be reflected in a country made up of 17 500 islands with a population of 240 million and home to the world's largest population of Muslims. The Big Picture's recent scenes from Indonesia (including a controversial bronze statute of Barack Obama) is especially compelling to me after abrief glimpse into a complex and varied land.
