Globe and Mail and Vampires

I've been counting down to Vampire Weekend's sophomore album Contra like a ten year old who whispered 'Super Nintendo' into a mall Santa's ear. One more sleep! Tiding me over before the Tuesday release is Globe and Mail columnist Robert Everett-Green's on point article that negotiates VW's uncompromising pop sensibility and their critics - who complain the first disc was Paul Simon's Graceland 20 years later. Funny. That's exactly why I can't wait till Tuesday.

Anglo-Saxon Treasure Hunt

A staff member from the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in Birmingham, England holds a selection of the 1,500 recently discovered gold and silver Anglo-Saxon treasure pieces. Discovered by an amateur treasure hunter buried in a field, the collection is the largest ever found and is estimated by experts to date back to the 7th century.
